מטרת הברית העולמית ל-ECD

הברית העולמית למחלת ארדהיים-צ'סטר (ECD Global Alliance) פועלת לקידום המודעות, התמיכה, החינוך והמחקר הקשורים למחלת ארדהיים-צ'סטר. במסגרת משימה זו, הארגון יפעל בשיתוף עם הקהילה העולמית כדי להשיג את המטרות הבאות:

להגביר את המודעות לנושא ההתפתחות המוקדמת של ילדים.  The purpose of this activity is to facilitate early diagnosis of the disease and to stimulate concern and efforts to increase knowledge regarding the disease and treatments.

לספק תמיכה לאנשים שנפגעו מהמחלה.  מטרת פעילות זו היא להקל ככל האפשר על הנטל המוטל על אלה הסובלים מ-ECD. תמיכה זו תכלול, בין היתר, מתן מידע, הפניות ומגע אישי עם אנשים אחרים הסובלים מהמחלה.

לקדם ולתמוך בתוכניות מחקר.  The purpose of such research programs is to learn more about (a) the disease, (b) effective treatments for the disease, (c) possible cures, and/or (d) avenues to prevent the disease altogether.  This will include, but not necessarily be limited to, collaborating with medical personnel, research personnel and other health organizations to help define areas where research is needed, to fund research, and to help promote the benefits of ECD research to other health agencies.  The alliance will also serve as a conduit to transfer needed information from its members to the research community per documented guidelines.

לשתף בחומרי חינוך ולסייע בהפצת מידע בין הגורמים המעוניינים בנושא התפתחות בגיל הרך.  פעילות זו תכלול מתן מידע עדכני, אמין ומבוסס עובדות בנושא ECD למטופלים, לקרוביהם, לצוות הרפואי, לחוקרים, לתקשורת ולארגונים אחרים. כמו כן, היא תכלול קידום, חסות וקיום סדנאות, סימפוזיונים ומפגשים אחרים לקידום מטרות הברית.
