Dr Vaglio graduated at the University of Parma (Italy) in 2000, and at the same institution completed his Nephrology post-graduate fellowship (2005) and his PhD (2009). In 2005-2006 he was post-doctoral fellow at the Lowance Center for Human Immunology of the Emory University, Atlanta, USA.

Dr Vaglio’s research interests include systemic vasculitis, lupus nephritis, retroperitoneal fibrosis and IgG4 related disease, and Erdheim-Chester disease. He is a member of the scientific council of the European Vasculitis Society (EUVAS) and coordinates the European EGPA study group. He published >300 papers in international, peer-reviewed journals and lectured in >60 International Meetings. He is Associate Editor of Nephrology Dialysis and Transplantation. Dr Vaglio currently serves as Director of the Post-Graduate Fellowship program in Nephrology at the University of Florence, Italy, where he is Associate Professor of Nephrology.
