ECD Zorgcentra
Er is een netwerk van ECD Care Centers beschikbaar om patiënten te helpen goed geïnformeerde artsen te vinden die de diagnose kunnen bevestigen en behandelingen en voortdurende zorg kunnen bieden. Bij veel patiënten duurt het vaak lang voordat de diagnose wordt gesteld. We begrijpen dat het wachten erg moeilijk is voor patiënten en hun familie. De moeilijkheden kunnen vaak doorgaan na de diagnose als de patiënt van het medische team te horen krijgt dat ze geen ervaring hebben met de behandeling van ECD. Wij van ECDGA geloven dat de identificatie van zorgcentra patiënten zal helpen bij hun zoektocht naar een medisch team in hun regio dat geïnteresseerd is in en kennis heeft van de behandeling van ECD patiënten.
De zorg voor een ECD patiënt is ingewikkeld en vereist een team van specialisten die samenwerken. Er zijn een aantal instellingen die zich inzetten om een team van specialisten beschikbaar te hebben om de beste zorg te bieden aan ECD patiënten. Dit netwerk van ECD Care Referral Centers is beschikbaar om ECD patiënten te helpen en werkt samen met het lokale medische team van de patiënt. Patiënten en plaatselijke artsen worden dringend verzocht contact op te nemen met de contactpersonen bij deze centra voor hulp bij het diagnosticeren, behandelen en controleren van ECD patiënten.
Vaak kan een patiënt niet reizen naar een ECD Zorgcentrum. In dit geval kan een patiënt een arts dicht bij huis nodig hebben die kennis heeft van ECD en de zorg voor iemand die leeft met ECD.
De ECDGA Patient Navigator heeft toegang tot informatie over artsen buiten Care Centers die bekend zijn met ECD. Als u een patiënt of familielid bent en informatie nodig hebt over artsen buiten Care Centers, neem dan contact met ons op.
Er zijn twee soorten ECD Zorgcentra: Verwijscentrum en een Opkomend Centrum.
Een ECD Referral Care Center is een centrum waar de instelling of een arts van de instelling vijf of meer ECD patiënten heeft behandeld. Deze centra zijn bereid en in staat om ECD behandelingen voor te schrijven. De hoofdarts van elk centrum is bereid om formeel of informeel overleg te plegen over ECD gevallen in andere centra, afhankelijk van het lokale beleid en de procedures met betrekking tot het plegen van dit overleg. Deze centra hebben ook een patholoog die bekend is met heterogene histopathologische manifestaties van ECD en die bereid is om mee te werken aan ECD gevallen.
Een ECD Opkomend Zorgcentrum is een instelling die geïnteresseerd is in de zorg voor ECD patiënten, maar nog geen vijf of meer ECD patiënten heeft behandeld. Elke medische professional die geïnteresseerd is om zijn/haar instelling te identificeren als een Verwijscentrum of Opkomend Zorgcentrum wordt aangemoedigd om contact op te nemen met de organisatie.
